✅ Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a standard loaf pan.
✅ Step 2: Mix the Meatloaf
In a large bowl, combine:
- Ground beef
- Breadcrumbs
- Egg
- Milk
- Onion, bell pepper, mushrooms
- Worcestershire sauce
- Garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Mix with clean hands or a spatula until fully combined — but don’t overmix!
✅ Step 3: Layer with Cheese
Press half the meat mixture into the bottom of your loaf pan.
Layer the provolone cheese slices over it, leaving a small gap at the edges (this prevents cheese from oozing out).
Top with the remaining meat mixture, pressing gently to seal the edges.
✅ Step 4: Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together:
- Beef broth
- Ketchup
- Brown sugar
- Mustard
Pour this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
